How to use the SMUDGE* tool in Fireworks: I used an different examples of the same image to show how the picture actually changes with the different smudge effects. I also sneaked in some red roses into the first image, and smudged around them to make them appear as if they belonged to the arrangement. This was done by selecting a different image that contained red roses, a) I cropped the roses that I wanted, b) saved the red roses as an image file, then, c) imported it into the current image, moved and placed it where I wanted it. I then I smudged around the red roses to make them look as if they belonged in the bouquet. *Note: In version 3 of Fireworks, the smudge tool is found under the bitmap tool section, where a teardrop shape, (blur tool), is the default. Click on the arrow in the corner, and the smudge tool will appear at the bottom of that window. In version 4 of Fireworks, the smudge tool has its own separate default button.
